Sexteto Zona Sul plays choro, an ever-expanding instrumental music that originated in Brazil and is now flowering around the world.

Hailing from Melbourne Doug de Vries has assembled the very best players from Australia to bring together this infectious mix of polka, maxixe (‘mashishi’) – a provocative dance from the early days of choro, and samba that continues to renew and reinvigorate into the 21st century drawing many followers and innovators to its vast repertoire.
